Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, producing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Massive Ice Stones and Extensive Impact

Locals reported giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Meteorological Predictions

Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.

Tomorrow was expected to become the wettest day, with continued storm activity anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.

Health Warning

Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
